Bighorns Announce 2013-14 Schedule

RENO, NEV., Sept. 5, 2013 - The Reno Bighorns' schedule for the 2013-14 season is set, the team announced today. The Bighorns will open their sixth season on the road at Sioux Falls on Friday, November 22 at 5 p.m. PST. The home opener will be Friday, December 6 against the Santa Cruz Warriors at 7 p.m. PST at the Reno Events Center.

"Fans throughout northern Nevada will be able to watch the best in professional basketball," added Bighorns owner, Herb Santos, Jr. "With our new, exclusive affiliation with the Sacramento Kings, the upcoming basketball season will be one to remember and we want you there to be part of the action."

This season, the NBA D-League will again be split into three divisions: the West, Midwest and East. The Bighorns are in the West division, and will be playing a significant amount of their schedule against the other four West teams, the Bakersfield Jam (affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors and the Utah Jazz), the Idaho Stampede (affiliate of the Portland Trailblazers), the Los Angeles D-Fenders (affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers) and the Santa Cruz Warriors (affiliate of the Golden State Warriors).

The NBA D-League Showcase will once again return to Reno for the 2013-14 season, with the Bighorns playing an additional two games at home during the week of January 5-9. The final schedule for the Showcase will be released closer to the season.

The majority of the Bighorns home games will take place on the weekends, with only nine games happening during the week. The Bighorns will wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday, April 5.
