WINNIPEG, Canada - The Kansas City T-Bones, dropped the series opener Saturday night, 7-1, against the Goldeyes.

The Goldeyes offense erupted for seven runs and 14 hits, off Kansas City pitching, including a five-run fourth inning off T-Bones starting pitcher Mike Nanini (1-3). Nanini was charged with five earned runs in three innings.

Kansas City's lone run came in the second inning, courtesy of an RBI single, from Jacob Hayes, which scored Adam Bailey from second base for a 1-0 lead.

Relief pitchers, Joe Van Meter and Josh Tols, pitched the final five innings for Kansas City, and each allowed one run apiece. Van Meter also added seven strikeouts.

On the four game road-trip, the Kansas City bullpen, has pitched 20 2/3 innings, and has allowed just four runs. The starting rotation however, has pitched just 13 and 1/3 innings and been charged with 24 runs.

Kansas City starting pitcher, Bobby Doran (8-2), looks to change the trend tomorrow afternoon for the T-Bones, as he will get the starting nod.

The T-Bones (34-27) continue the six-game road trip Sunday afternoon, against the Winnipeg Goldeyes (31-34), with first pitch scheduled for 1:30 pm central.
