GENEVA, Ill. - The Milwaukee Milkmen played game two of their best-of-three series against the Kane County Cougars in round one of the 2023 Wolff Cup Playoffs.

Cam Baelgo hit into a fielder's choice to score Bryan Torres in the first inning as both teams traded blows to tie the game at one. The Cougars then added two more in the second to take the lead.

Roy Morales then hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Balego in the third but Kane County once again scored another to remain ahead by two.

That's when the Milkmen offense snapped in the fourth inning, putting up five hits and drawing three walks to put up a seven-spot on the Cougars. Torres, Morales, and Michael Crouse each had two RBI hits in the inning and Gabriel Cancel finished it off with a single that brought home Crouse.

The Cougars then put up another two runs in the bottom of the fourth but the Milkmen remained on top by three.

Milwaukee's defense then stiffened up and held Kane County scoreless until the ninth inning when the Milkmen let up a solo home run, but by the time Peyton Gray forced the final out Milwaukee took the game 9-7.

"It was just one good at-bat after another," Milkmen manager Anthony Barone said of the big fourth inning. "There was a lot of urgency tonight from the offense we had to put up some runs. So give them credit for that big inning they battled."

The Milkmen will now play one final game in Kane County to decide the winner of the best-of-three series and who will advance to the Eastern Division Finals. Tomorrow's game will be played at 6:30 p.m. We hope to see you soon!

Tickets are on sale at MilwaukeeMilkmen.com or at the Franklin Field Box Office prior to the game.
