Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA – A crowd of approximately 10,000 is expected for the 7:05 p.m. home stand finale tonight at Rosenblatt Stadium, when the Royals play the Oklahoma RedHawks. In addition to the ever-popular Friday Fireworks series, tonight's crowd is boosted thanks to the partnership of tonight's sponsor, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

Members of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors bought large blocks of tickets for their customers to enjoy this evening's contest. Additionally, local corporations such as Mutual of Omaha, Ameristar and OPPD scheduled group outings in support of the Royals tonight.

The Royals' increase in attendance, which was up over 12,000 through the end of May, hasn't gone unnoticed by Omaha field manager Mike Jirschele. "In addition to the crowds being a bit larger, I've noticed there seems to be more enthusiasm from the fans this year," Jirschele said. "We appreciate it and our guys will play hard to give them their money's worth," he added.

On the business side, there has been a noticeable difference as well. "Our sales are up over 25 percent for group outings so far and we're just now hitting the popular summer months," commented Don Wilson, Director of Ticket Operations/Group Sales.

After tonight's game, the Royals travel to Colorado Springs for a four-game set. They will have four more home games from Thursday, June 10 through Sunday, June 13, before hitting the road for the remainder of the month on their annual College World Series trek.
