LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC- Its "Irish Heritage Night" Friday July 8th when the Blowfish take on the Savannah Bananas at 7:05pm/Gates open at 6pm. Lexington County Blowfish Players will be wearing Irish themed Jerseys in honor of Lexington County's 1st ever St Patrick's Day Parade last March in downtown Lexington.
The specially designed limited edition Irish themed jerseys will be available for fans in attendance to bid on their favorite players jerseys. In the seventh inning the bidding ends. At the end of the game, the winners will get to come down on the field and the players will take the "Shirt off their back" and present the jerseys to the winner followed by an Irish themed "Concert in the Sky" Fireworks Show. Proceeds from the jersey auction benefit Leeza's Care Connection. The event is presented by the Lexington County Blowfish, The Irmo Chamber of Commerce and 97.5 WCOS Radio.
The grand opening for Leeza's Care Connection in South Carolina, a non-profit organization founded by TV personality Leeza Gibbons, will be held July 7.
The facility, which provides services for caregivers of people suffering chronic and terminal illnesses, will be housed at the Michael J. and Mary Meech Mungo Home on St. Andrews Road in the Whitehall neighborhood where Leeza was raised. Gibbons, attended Irmo High School.
An energetic, uplifting, Care-Giver focused, resource center serving the Midlands by leading the way to meet the ever increasing needs of families, neighbors and friends. A free community resource center supporting seniors, baby boomers, and family members of all ages and caregiving backgrounds.
