BETTS REASSIGNED
Spokane Chiefs forward Luke Betts has been reassigned to a BCHL team to be determined. Betts appeared in six games in Spokane, scoring one goal and recording six penalty minutes after being acquired from the Red Deer Rebels. In total, Betts has played 23 games this season with three goals and five points.
The move leaves the Chiefs with 22 players on its roster; two goaltenders, seven defensemen and 13 forwards.
SPURGEON SUSPENDED
The Western Hockey League has suspended defenseman Jared Spurgeon one game after he received a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing in Monday night's game at Tri-City. Spurgeon will serve the penalty tonight when Spokane hosts the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Spurgeon will be back in the lineup on Saturday when the Chiefs travel to Tri-City to take on the Americans at 7:00. The game will be aired live on Comcast channel 12.
