Philadelphia Union II News Release

CHESTER, Pa. - Bethlehem Steel FC announced today it has added Jeff Cook and Stephen Hogan as assistant coaches for the inaugural 2016 season. In addition, the club has added Dave Peck as an athletic development coach, Yaseen Khan as athletic trainer and Brandon Comisky as team coordinator.

"I'm really excited to bring Jeff and Stephen to build our technical staff. They've both had tremendous success at various youth development levels and I'm extremely confident in their abilities to help our club succeed immediately," Bethlehem Steel FC head coach Brendan Burke said. "Dave, Yaseen and Brandon are guys who I've worked with in the past and we share a similar drive that will really allow our group to work together as one. Their expertise in respective areas is a huge plus for us and it will be vital for our club's success."

Cook joins Bethlehem Steel FC from the Philadelphia Union academy, where he has served as the U-16s coach since the beginning of the 2013-14 developmental season. Under his leadership, the U-16s had their best season in 2014-15, where the club finished 21-3-2 and earned the No. 2 national seed in the USSDA playoffs. The team then went on to the national semifinals in Carson, Calif., where they finished third. Prior to joining the academy, Cook served as the head coach of Dartmouth College, where he had an illustrious 12-year career. While at Dartmouth, Cook led the program to five conference titles and seven NCAA tournament appearances, including a pair of Sweet 16 appearances. In addition to his duties at Bethlehem, Cook will remain on staff with the Union academy.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to join the coaching staff of Bethlehem Steel FC," Cook said. "I'd like to thank the Union ownership for their commitment to this project, which I believe is a very significant step forward in the growth of our club. Bethlehem Steel is an iconic name in the history of U.S. Soccer and I am proud to be involved with our new USL team."

Hogan, who will also serve as the head coach of the Union's PDL affiliate, Reading United, joins Steel FC after serving as the head coach of The College of Saint Rose's men's soccer program. While on the staff of the Albany, N.Y. based college, Hogan established the Golden Knights training program, was active in recruiting players and monitored the academic progress of his student athletes. Hogan is a Dublin, Ireland native, and also played under Burke during their time at Reading. He is tied for the second most appearances, 52, in club history, while playing from 2007-10. During Hogan's time with the club, Reading won the 2009 PDL Regular Season Championship and reached the PDL National Semifinals in 2008 and 2010.

Peck joins the club from the Philadelphia Union academy; he'll continue his duties with both the academy and first team. He holds a degree from the University of Wisconsin (Madison), where he lettered three years playing football. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a USA Weightlifting Level I Sports Performance Coach.

Khan joins the club from Northeastern University where he has been an assistant athletic trainer since 2013. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Boston University in 2013, and has worked with various sports teams from different colleges in the Boston area, including BU men's soccer, MIT men's lacrosse and basketball, Boston College football, and Northeastern University men's basketball.

Comisky joins the team after spending the last three years as the equipment coordinator for the first team. A 2012 graduate of Rutgers University, Comisky received his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science with a focus on sports management. Comisky will also head the equipment department for Bethlehem Steel.
