Bes Voted CHL Player Of The Week For Fifth Time

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced today that Jeff Bes has been voted the CHL/Oakley player of the week for the period ending January 6th.

This is the second player of the week honor this season for Bes, and the fifth of his CHL career. He was voted player of the week for the period ending October 28th.

This past week the Bes, led the Bucks to a 3-1 record, with wins over Rio Grande Valley (6-2), Mississippi (5-2), and Colorado (5-3). In Laredo's four games last week Bes scored four goals, and handed out six assists for 10 points.

With his 10 points last week Bes, from Tillsonburg, Ontario, increased his CHL-leading point total to 55 (22-33=55).

Bes is the first Bucks player to win more than one CHL player of the week awards in the same season.

In The Bucks 6-2 New Year's Eve win over the Killer Bees, Bes handed out two assists (one on the power-play). On Thursday Bes scored a power-play goal, with two assists to help lead Laredo to a 5-2 win over the Riverkings. In the Bucks 3-2 loss to Rio on Friday Bes picked up a goal and an assist. Bes came up big in Sunday's 5-3 win over Colorado, scoring two goals (one on the power-play), while handing out an assist.

Bes will play in his third CHL all-star game on January 16th in Broomfield, Colorado.

The Bucks will look to improve their CHL-leading 25-8-2 (52 points) record this weekend during fan appreciation weekend.
