
Berti Returns to Gwinnett for 2009-10 Season

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have agreed to terms with left wing Adam Berti for the 2009-2010 season.
Berti returns to the Gladiators after appearing in 39 games with the team last season, notching 10 goals and 24 assists. In addition to skating with the Gladiators last season, Berti spent time with the Fresno Falcons appearing in 29 games. He also appeared in 10 games in the American Hockey League with the Rockford IceHogs collecting a goal and two assists.
The 23-year-old Oshawa, Ontario native earned a call-up to the National Hockey League during the 2007-2008 season, appearing in two games with the Chicago Blackhawks. Berti also skated in 42 games with Rockford posting 7 points off of 2 goals and 5 assists.
Prior to his professional debut with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL during the 2006-2007 season, Berti spent four junior seasons with the Oshawa Generals and the Erie Otters of the OHL, compiling 96 goals and 166 points in his Ontario Hockey League Career. Berti was selected in the third round with the 68th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks
Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier 'AA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that is the third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League. The ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.

The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the spectacular 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth, where parking is always free.
