Berschbach Assigned from Griffins to Walleye

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins on Thursday assigned right wing Shane Berschbach to the ECHL's Toledo Walleye.

A native of Royal Oak, Mich., Berschbach made his AHL debut with the Griffins on Oct. 10 and has since skated in five games for the team. The 23-year-old has also suited up in three games with the Walleye this season, notching a goal and assist. Prior to signing a one-year contract with Grand Rapids on July 1, the 5-foot-8, 165-pound left wing spent four seasons with Western Michigan University from 2010-14, picking up 117 points (39-78 - 117) in 146 career collegiate games.

The Griffins will welcome the Texas Stars to Van Andel Arena on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. for clashes between the two most recent Calder Cup Champions.
