Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today the team will hold a Food Drive to benefit Foodlink, the regional food bank, during the game on Friday, Nov. 21 when the Amerks host the Utica Comets at 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.

Fans are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items by dropping them off in collection bins in front of The Blue Cross Arena Box Office, located in the lower atrium, prior to the game on Nov. 21. The items will then be donated to Foodlink. Later this month, members of the Amerks will assist Foodlink in sorting and packaging food at their warehouse prior to Thanksgiving.

Any fan that donates two unopened, non-perishable food items in the Foodlink bins located at the Box Office windows prior to the Nov. 21 game will be eligible to purchase "Buy One-Get One Free" tickets to that night's game.

About Foodlink: Foodlink, the regional food bank, provides food, nutrition, education and resources in Western and Central New York. As a member of Feeding America, Foodlink rescues and redistributes over 13 million pounds of food to 450 human service agencies. While the distribution of food to reduce hunger remains the foundation of Foodlink's activities, the vision is more holistic: to end hunger, build self-sufficiency, and foster nutritional wellness.
