NORMAL, IL - The Normal CornBelters, presented by the Illinois Corn Farmers, scored runs in the first four innings of play against the Traverse City, on their way to a 10-1 victory at the Corn Crib.
A lot of CornBelters highlighted the night, including Brad Augustin, who was inserted into the lineup before the game. Augustin was 3-for-5 on the night, scoring two runs. Daniel Cox was 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs. Asif Shah was 2-for-4 scoring two runs. Andrew Barbaro was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Mike Dufek was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Ryan Shelton also pitched well. He pitched a complete game, giving up seven hits, one run, one walk, while matching his hit total by striking out seven batters.
The All-Star Break will begin Monday and last until Thursday. After that, the CornBelters will return to the Corn Crib to play the Southern Illinois Miners in a three game series beginning Friday at 7 PM.
