MARION, Ill. - Gateway Grizzlies all-star outfielder Brandon Peters suffered an injury this weekend and will not be able to compete in the Frontier League Home Run Derby presented by Dr. Pepper. Traverse City first baseman C.J. Ziegler will replace Peters in the competition.

Ziegler is hitting .267 with seven home runs and 24 RBIs. He is in his first year with Traverse City after spending the last two summers in the San Francisco Giants organization.

It was announced Saturday that Evansville's Estee Harris will replace Peters in on the West Division All-Stars roster.

The derby is scheduled for 7 p.m. this Tuesday, July 13 at Rent One Park. In the first round of the derby, each of the eight batters will receive 10 outs to hit as many home runs as possible. An out consists of any swing that does not result in a home run. The top four hitters will advance to the second round where they will each have eight outs to work with. The top two hitters from the first and second rounds combined will advance to the finals. The slate will be wiped clean in the final round with both hitters given five outs to hit as many homers as possible.

Sunday the Miners will finish the first half of the season against the Oakland County Cruisers before returning home for the the 2010 Frontier League All-Star game, presented by Peoples National Bank, which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 14 at 7:05 p.m. at Rent One Park.
