
Belmont's Ludwig Signs with Southshore

GARY, IN, July 8, 2015 - Ahead of Wednesday's game against the Sioux City Explorers, the Gary SouthShore RailCats signed rookie LHP Dan Ludwig and placed LHP Andy Roberts on the disabled list.
Ludwig, who is expected to start Wednesday's contest, is a product of Belmont University - the same university 'Cats INF Zac Mitchell graduated from. It will be his first professional start.
The Naperville, Ill., native posted a 20-18 record and 4.27 ERA through his collegiate career. He made 47 starts through his four years, including a career-high 15 games started and 95.1 innings pitched in 2015.
Roberts, Wednesday's original starter, will head to the DL due to blisters on his throwing hand. He has an 0-4 record and 5.31 ERA this season.
