Lincoln 9, Sioux Falls 1
The Saltdogs rolled over the Canaries on Wednesday afternoon in Sioux Falls in front of 3,219 fans. DH Curt Smith hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, his fifth of the season, to put Lincoln on the board. After a wild pitch in the third, 1B Jeremy Hamilton hit an RBI double, and he scored on a double by RF Brian Joynt. Hamilton added another RBI on a groundout in the fourth, and Lincoln plated single runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth.
Smith, Joynt, 3B Eddie Young and CF Matt Forgatch had two hits apiece for the Saltdogs.
For Sioux Falls, LF Brian Humphries had two hits.
RHP Shairon Martis struck out four and allowed only one run in seven innings, earning the win for Lincoln.
