
Bells Quiet Sweets' Bats in Game Three Loss

Bellingham, WASH- The Walla Walla Sweets (21-18) lost game three to the Bellingham Bells (20-16) 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Bells struck for two runs in the first inning off of All-Star starter Bobby Ay (Cal Poly). Ay lasted a season low three innings.
The Sweets received five shutout innings in relief from Nick Scheidler (UCLA), who went three perfect innings, and Ryan Anderson (Nevada), who threw two innings and only gave up one hit.
The Sweets' bullpen has combined for 11 innings of one run baseball over the last two nights against the Bells.
The Sweets were shutout for just the second time on the season and were held to three hits. They were also held to 0-3 with runners in scoring position.
The Sweets will enjoy three days off for the All-Star Break. Walla Walla sends Ay, Willie MacIver (Washington), Nick Nyquist (Gonzaga) and the All-Star Game starter, Easton Lucas (Pepperdine) to Cowlitz for the All-Star Game.
