The Sweets countered in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Chris McCready (San Diego) to make it 2-1. Bellingham added a run in the third and exploded for five runs in the fourth inning to make it 8-1. Neither team would score the rest of the way, but both teams left 11 on base over the course of the game. Scheidler, Jordan Myrow (UCLA), Ben Baird (Washington), Jack Cosca (Cal) and Justin Bruihl (Cal Poly) all made their season debuts for the Sweets in the loss. The Sweets will send Chris Murphy (San Diego) to the mound for tomorrow's game three for a chance at salvaging a game in the series.
