King County Royals News Release

SEATTLE - Ex-Cougar Randy Green led all scorers with 29 points, but it was not enough as the King County Royals lost their second game, 107-92, to the Beijing Olympians in an American Basketball Association game Monday night at the North Seattle Community College Wellness Center.

Beijing, playing their first game this season, had four players score in double figures including Josh Murray with 28 and Huang Hai Bei with 23. Former Seattle Sonic Fred Vinson added 18 for the Olympians.

Beijing raced out to a 18-4 lead in the opening minutes, and held a comfortable lead for most of the game. It wasn't until the middle stages of the fourth quarter that the Royals were able to put together any sort of run.

Trailing 96-77 with 7:47 to play, King County went on an 11-0 run in the next 90 seconds to cut the lead to nine, but Beijing went on an 11-0 run of its own in five minutes to restore its 20-point lead and secure the victory.

Beijing continues its northwest road trip as it takes on the Bellingham Slam Tuesday and Wednesday night in Bellingham, while the next action for the Royals will be on Dec. 14 when they entertain the Fresno Heatwave at North Seattle Community College at 8 p.m.
