
Bees Win 4-3 in 10 Innings

CLINTON, IA (April 10, 2011) - The Burlington Bees (3-1) scored a run on a throwing error in the 10th inning to earn a 4-3 win over the Clinton LumberKings (1-3) on Sunday afternoon at Alliant Energy Field
Clinton scored a single run in the first inning against Burlington RHP Blake Hassebrock. RF Julio Morban (4-5) reached on a fielder's choice and moved to second base on a passed ball. DH Mickey Wiswall (1-4) hit an RBI single to score Morban.
Burlington scored two runs in the second inning to take a 2-1 lead. DH Yordy Cabrera (0-5) reached base on a fielder's choice. RF Royce Consigli (4-5) singled Cabrera to second base. 2B Ryan Pineda (1-4) walked to load the bases. Cabrera scored on a wild pitch and Consigli crossed home plate on a passed ball.
The Bees scored an insurance run in the sixth inning. SS Wade Kirkland (1-5) singled and stole second base. Consigli ripped an RBI single to score Kirkland and make it 3-1.
Clinton scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings. SS Anthony Phillips (1-4) hit a solo home run against LHP Jeff Urlaub in the 9th inning to tie the score at 3-3.
In the 10th inning Kirkland reached base on a fielder's choice. A balk by Clinton RHP Tyler Blandford (0-1) moved Kirkland to second base and pinch-hitter Jose Rivero (0-1) hit a ground to Phillips, who threw wide of first base to allow Kirkland to score and make it 4-3.
The Bees open up the home portion of their schedule on Monday night against the Peoria Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. The first one thousand fans through the gates at Community Field will receive a free magnet schedule sponsored by Mazzio's Italian Eatery. Peoria will start RHP Graham Hicks (1-0, 1.80 Vermont Lake Monsters/1-6, 5.27 Hagerstown Suns in 2010) against LHP Jacob Brown (2-3, 1.82 Vancouver Canadians 2010).
