Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees (51-57) dropped their third-consecutive game to the Sacramento River Cats (47-61) Thursday night 9-3. The Bees are now 6-9 against Sacramento and have lost seven of nine games against them in Smith's Ballpark.

Matt Thaiss went 2-for-4 and Orlando Martinez hit a two-RBI triple to continue his recent hot streak.

Sacramento jumped out to a 5-1 lead early, thanks to a four-run second inning. The Bees scored their only runs in the fourth inning as Martinez brought home two runs on his triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Kean Wong.

Salt Lake was within striking distance for much of the game until Isan Diaz hit a three-RBI home run in the eighth inning to make it 8-3. It was his second of the game as he also hit a solo shot on the second pitch of the game.

The Bees and the River Cats will play game four of the series Friday night at 6:35 p.m.
