Bees Can't Catch Wichita, Fall 4-1

WICHITA. Kan.- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (10-9-4) fell to the Wichita Thunder (15-7-0) by a 4-1 final on Friday night. David Marshall scored the Bees lone goal in his return to the line-up. Dan Dunn made 23 saves in his first game since November 4th.

Wichita took the first lead of the game last in the first period as Chris Greene scored his first of the season and a defensive breakdown for the Bees.

In the second David Marshall tied the game for the Bees in his first game back in the black and yellow. Marshall came in on a two-on-one with Aaron Lee and ripped a shot past Adam Russo for the unassisted strike. For Marshall it was his sixth goal in just his seventh game of the season.

Wichita regained the lead halfway through the second frame with a power-play goal by Jarred Mohr. With three of the Killer Bees blueliners in the box the Thunder worked the puck to the slot where Mohr one-timed it to the back of the net.

The Thunder would add another pair of goals in the third period, a second on the power-play and an empty net goal to pick up the victory.

The Killer Bees and Thunder will battle once again on Saturday night at the INTRUST Bank Arena, puck drops at 7:05 p.m. Fans can follow the Bees on the road at 956sports.com and CHL-TV.
