Omaha Beef News Release

Omaha, Nebraska - The Omaha Beef of the United Indoor Football Association announce today that they guarantee a Mothers Day victory. The Beef have had a month to forget as they approach their Mother's Day clash against the Evansville BlueCats at the Slaughterhouse. The Beef, who started the season 3-0, have lost 4 consecutive games to bring their record to 3-4. The Beef assure that will all change on Sunday as they face off against Evansville.

Not only is a victory guaranteed, but the Beef will be offering two Touchdown Alley tickets for the price of one on Sunday, a $24 value for only $12 in honor of moms in the area. If the Beef do not win on Sunday, fans with paid tickets will be able to redeem their tickets for a free upper bowl ticket to any remaining Beef home game at the Slaughterhouse. Now that's a guarantee!

Beef General Manager Dustin Talacko states, "We are confident in our current standings. To borrow the old cliché, 'Sometimes you have to lose the battle to win the war.' We are a team that has been our own worst enemy, but non-the-less we have made our bed and now we are sleeping in it. We are fired up about the challenge of beating the much-improved BlueCats on Mothers Day and getting back on the right track in a quest for the Qwest. The Qwest Center that is, where we will be playing if we earn a home play off birth on July 21st."

The Beef are coming off a road loss against their I-29 rival the Sioux City Bandits. Sioux City came away with a close 36-29 win. Omaha is currently sitting in third place, a game behind the second place Colorado Ice in the Western Conference. Quarterback James McNear is currently sitting sixth in the league in rushing, eighth in passing yards per game, and seventh in offense. Speedy wide receiver and kick returner Lawrence Pullen is currently third in the league in all-purpose yards gained this season.

Evansville comes in with a 2-4 record, including a win last weekend on the road at Ohio Valley. The BlueCats are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference on the heels of Bloomington and Rock River who are tied for third. The Bluecats will look for Richard Johnson and Ray Kirkley to lead the charge for them this weekend. This will be the only time the Beef and BlueCats collide this season.
