
Extreme nominates three for UIF honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington Extreme players James Walton, Terrill Mayberry and Doug Higgins have been nominated by the coaching staff for Player of the Week honors in the United Indoor Football League for their performances in a 49-23 victory over RiverCity.
Walton caught seven passes for 103 yards and three touchdowns to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors by the coaching staff.
Mayberry registered seven solo tackles and one assisted tackle while breaking up two passes and intercepting one pass to earn nomination for the Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Higgins, in his first competitive game since 1991 at the University of Illinois, connected on four of seven extra points and a 20-yard field goal to receive the Special Teams nomination.
The Extreme looks to extend its franchise record three-game winning streak May 19 at 7:05 p.m. when it hosts Ohio Valley at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
