Matt Beech carried a no hitter Saturday Night at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard until Tommy Rojas of the Patriots stroked a solo shot on the third pitch of the fifth inning into the net in left field. Beech, however, would finish the complete game win 9-2.

In his first at bat back with the Bluefish since having his contract purchased by the Houston Astros, Barry Wesson recorded a lead off single for the Fish. Darryl Brinkley then doubled, and with men on second and third Deivi Cruz smoked a two-RBI single up the middle to put the Bluefish out to an early lead.

In the bottom of the fifth inning the Bluefish tacked on another run as P.J. Rose ripped a double down the right-field line to bring home Cruz who singled earlier in the inning.

With no outs and runners on second and third in the top of the sixth inning Beech found himself in some trouble. He then forced three pop outs to get out of the inning unharmed.

Steve Hine tripled in the bottom of the sixth inning, his fourth of the year, tying him for second with Damian Rolls. Hine then scored on a Wesson single and Brinkley came up next and singled Wesson in.

Damian Rolls singled in the seventh inning, scoring Rose, and then with two men on and one out Norm Hutchins crushed a homerun over the railroad tracks in right field.

Kevin Nicholson stroked an RBI single in the eighth inning to give Somerset their second run of the night which would be all in the 9-2 Bluefish win.
