Burlington, NC - The D-Braves were able to end their three game losing streak and take the first game of a three game series against the Burlington Royals. The Braves won 7-3 with the help of Greg Ross who pitched a solid ball game, going six innings on route to his sixth win. Billy Beckwith belted his eighth homerun of the year in the sixth inning to give the Braves the lead they needed to win. Burlington got on the board first in the third inning when they were able to score three runs off of Ross. Anthony Howard led off the inning with a homerun to deep center field. The blast was Howard's second homer of the season. After getting an out, Ross walked Lane Adams and then gave up a double to Justin Trapp. Trapp's hit scored Adams making it 2-0. The runner was able to advance to third when Ross attempted to pick Trapp off of second and threw it into the outfield. A groundout by Michael Antonio gave the Royals their third and final run of the game. The Braves responded with two runs in the next half inning.
