Beavers-Cubs Postponed Due To Rain

DES MOINES, Iowa - Saturday's scheduled game between the Portland Beavers and the Iowa Cubs at Principal Park has been postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader Sunday at 10:05 a.m. (Pacific).

Sunday's doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning games.

Left-hander Wade LeBlanc (2-2, 8.58) will start for Portland in the first game and face left-hander Rich Hill (0-1, 3.60). Right-hander Enrique Gonzalez (0-1, 5.82) will go for the Beavers in the nightcap, with right-hander Justin Berg (0-2, 14.09) scheduled to start for the Cubs.

NOTES: Earlier in the day, infielder Tom King was transferred to Portland from Class A Lake Elsinore. King, 23, was batting .158 (12-for-76) with two doubles, five walks, four RBIs and eight runs scored in 19 games with the Storm to start the season ... Sunday's doubleheader will be the Beavers' first of the season ... the Beavers begin an eight-game homestand Thursday, May 15.
