Portland Beavers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers play host to a series of exciting events at PGE Park, including a special appearance from the original Beaver, Jerry Mathers, for "Leave it to Beaver" Night, as part of an eight-game homestand against the Albuquerque Isotopes and Round Rock Express beginning Wednesday. Additionally, the Beavers will also host the club's annual Mullet Night and Strike Out Breast Cancer event.
In one of the most anticipated events of the season, actor Jerry Mathers makes a special visit to PGE Park for the Beavers' "Leave it to Beaver" Night on Saturday presented by Comcast. Mathers, who starred as Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver on the television show "Leave it to Beaver," will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, sign autographs and participate in a variety of in-game activities. The first 1,903 fans receive a limited-edition Jerry Mathers bobblehead.
The Beavers pay tribute to the business-in-the-front, party-in-the-back hairstyle with Mullet Night on a Miller Lite Thursday at PGE Park. The annual event will feature several mullet-themed activities including an Achy Breaky Heart Dance-Off, inspired by singer Billy Ray Cyrus' early 1990s hairdo, and mullet trivia. Supercuts will be on site prior the game to give fans a mullet haircut in exchange for a free general admission ticket.
The annual "Strike Out Breast Cancer" event, presented by Health Net Insurance, returns to PGE Park on Sunday as the Beavers begin a four-game series against Round Rock. Among the several activities on Sunday, the Beavers will wear one-of-a-kind, pink-ribbon jerseys that will be auctioned off through a silent auction before and during the game to raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The winning bidder will be presented the player's autographed, game-worn jersey after the game. The first 1,903 fans receive pink T-shirts, courtesy of Health Net Insurance.
Tickets for the homestand against the Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins, and the Express, the Triple-A club of the Houston Astros, are available at the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (503) 224-4400.
