Bears score four in the third to down Tigers 6-2

HERSHEY roars into the All-Star break with four straight wins and eight in the last ten as they defeat Bridgeport Saturday night at GIANT Center 6-2.

The BEARS got the scoring underway in the first period when Andre Savage took a pass from Eric Perrin and potted his seventh goal of the season past Bridgeport goaltender Wade Dubielewicz. With a 1-0 lead late in the period, HERSHEY would run the score to 2-0 when Mike Souza intercepted a pass from Sound Tiger defenseman Ed Campbell and scored his second goal of the season. The BEARS outshot Bridgeport 14-6 in the first period and led 2-0 after 20 minutes.

In the second period, the game remained 2-0 until Bridgeport's Brendan Yarema scored a short-handed goal at 15:36 pull the Tigers back within one. Steve Regier then scored at 19:36 off of a Jody Robinson rebound to tie the game at two after two.

In the third period, the BEARS would score four times to run away with the victory. Jeff Ulmer scored the game-winning goal at the 5:30 mark of the third, Eric Perrin notched his 16th of the year at 11:45, Ryan Steeves picked up his third goal of the season at 16:26 and Souza finished off the contest with an empty net tally at 19:28. The win was the fourth in a row for HERSHEY, and the eighth in the last ten games.

The BEARS now enter the All-Star break, returning to the ice next Friday with a game at Norfolk at 7:30 p.m.
