Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Cutters saw their current losing streak reach four-straight games, falling to the BlackBears 8-1 in an eventful opening game of the series.
In-between the 6th and 7th innings, both dugouts and bullpens cleared after word were exchanged. Players and coaches had to restrain one another, as words and gestures were shared along the 3rd base line toward home plate. No ejections resulted.
Manuel Silva suffered the loss, allowing three runs on four hits, four walks and striking out two over 4.1
innings. He surrendered his first two home runs of the season.
Austin Ross surrendered four runs on two hits, three walks and a hit batter while striking out two in 1.1 IP.
Ben Pelletier (2-4) and Rafael Marchan (2-4) were the only two Crosscutters to record multi-hit games.
Edwin Rodriguez had the Cutters only extra-base hit in the loss, a double.
Ben Aklinski scored the lone Cutters run, advancing to home on a throw as Marchan was caught stealing 2nd base in the bottom of the 1st inning.
