Bears Hand Devils Road Loss

HERSHEY, PA - The Hershey Bears scored three goals during a three minute and six second span on their way to a 4-0 victory against the Albany Devils Saturday at Giant Center. The meeting was the first of two between the clubs this season and within a week's span. The Devils (6-4-0-0) host the Bears (5-2-2-0) next Friday at Times Union Center.

Christian Thomas opened the scoring at 11:40 of the first, following up on his own attempt off the right post. Brad Malone increased the Bears' lead at 13:15 from Chris Bourque and Riley Barber. Then Thomson setup Stanislav Galiev at 14:46 to give Hershey a 3-0 lead at the first intermission.

In the second, Colby William made it a 4-0 lead at 16:42.

Scott Wedgewood took over goaltending duties from Mackenzie Blackwood after the Bears' third goal. Wedgewood made 18 stops, while Blackwood had three saves. At the other end, Vitek Vanecek registered his first career shutout. He had 27 stops.
