Bear Hughes Named to U.S. Division Second All-Star Team

Spokane Chiefs forward and team captain Bear Hughes has been named a U.S. Division Second Team All-Star.

The team is rounded out by fellow forwards Tyson Kozak (POR) and Lukas Svejkovsky (SEA), as well as defensemen Ronan Seeley (EVT) and Kevin Korchinski (SEA), and netminder Thomas Milic (SEA).

The Post Falls native led the team during the regular season in assists (43) and total points (67). He notched his first career hat trick and tallied his 100th WHL point in the same night on March 12 against the Tri-City Americans for a career-best six points (3G-3A). He finished the regular season with 24 goals in 64 games - the most in his three full seasons with the Chiefs.

Hughes was named team captain in January, the 35th in franchise history.

Over his 127-game WHL career, the 20-year-old racked up 116 points on 42 goals and 74 assists and was selected by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
