Port Huron Flags News Release

In Brief
· 10/15: One and Oh!!
The Beacons started the season out the right way; with a win. Not only did the Beacons win their first game of the season, but it also saw the return of something that many who followed the Beacons last season did not see. The Power play returned with a 2/7 clip on Friday and propelled the Beacons to a win over the ‘Dogs. Defensemen, Mark Lindsay and Chad Dameworth each had a power play goal in regulation. Goaltender, Stu Dunn made 33 saves on 35 shots as well as all four shots he faced in the shootout. Ian Jacobs and Josh Tataryn both scored in the shootout giving the Beacons the 3-2 win.
· 10/16: Hat Trick!
Josh Tataryn notched his first three goals of the season, by scoring the 1st, 2nd, and 4th goals for the Beacons respectively. Aaron Brand and newcomer Malcolm MacMillan also scored their first on the year. The Beacons once again excelled in the power play department going 3/8, however that was not enough as the team fell 6-5 to the ‘Dogs as Richmond's J.J. Wrobel scored the game winning goal with 3:08 left in the 3rd period. Goaltender Stu Dunn did all he could for the team as he had another 30 save night.

Upcoming Games: Week Two
· 10/22: The Home Opener!
The Beacons return home to the friendly confines of McMorran Place Arena where the Beacons were 24-11-2 last season. The Beacons look to continue their winning ways at home when they welcome the Fort Wayne Komets to the ice on Friday October 22nd, face-off is set for 7:05 p.m. It also means the first match-up for David Beauregard against his former team, whom was traded from the Komets this summer.
· 10/23: Battle of Michigan Begins
When the Beacons travel to Kalamazoo on Saturday to face the Wings, there might be a little more at stake then wins and losses. The first division game could be more for pride than anything else. The newly created Central Division puts all five Michigan teams in the same division, which some are even calling the Michigan Division.

· 10/24: First Expansion Team To Visit
The Kansas City Outlaws make their first visit to McMorran Place Arena as a member of the UHL. One of three new expansion teams in the league this year, which also includes the Danbury Trashers and Motor City Mechanics.
