Beach Bums' Steve Lohr Named Player of the Week

TRAVERSE CITY, MI- Today, the Frontier League announced that Traverse City Beach Bums infielder, Steve Lohr has been named the player of the week.

This past week, Lohr had a .526 batting average, going 10 for 19 with a home run, three doubles, four runs batted in, and six runs scored. With that performance, he's climbed to the top of the league's batting list with a .413 average, and is first in on base percentage with a .518 mark.

The Buena Park, CA, native spent the last two seasons in the Texas Rangers organization, and was a 20th round pick out of California Baptist University. He was also an all-star in the Australian Baseball League with the Adelaide Bite. He came into the season with a .302 all-time batting average.

The Beach Bums take Memorial Day off before heading to Sprenger Stadium in Avon, OH, to start a three game series against the Lake Erie Crushers. First pitch for all three games will be at 6:35pm and Tom Willms will have the call, starting with the Budweiser pregame show, at 6:15pm. When the Beach Bums return to Traverse City on Friday, we will be celebrating National Donut Day at Wuerfel Park.
