TRAVERSE CITY, MI - After last night's 5-0 shutout win, the Traverse City Beach Bums(27-36) had the tables turned on them, falling to the Florence Freedom(27-36) by the final score of 3-0.

After both teams went scoreless through the first three innings, Florence's Andrew Godbold knocked a solo home run over the left field wall, his eighth of the season, to give his club a 1-0 lead. It took until the eighth, but Florence netted a couple of important insurance runs. After Isaac Wenrich walked, and pinch-runner Shaun Cooper stole second, Andre Mercurio hit a deep fly ball to left that carried to the wall for an RBI triple. Two batters later Goldbold drove Mercurio in to score on an RBI single.

The Freedom's Cody Gray earned the win to improve to 5-1 on the year. He went six and 2/3 innings, allowing just one hit while walking five, and he struck out six. Michael Shreves had a quality start for the Bums, going seven and 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on six hits, two walks, and fanned two. He falls to 2-5 with the loss. Ethan Gibbons hurled a perfect ninth, with a strikeout, to nab his eighth save of the season.
