BC Lions Celebrate Grey Cup Unite with Virtual Events Throughout Week
(Vancouver)- The BC Lions Football Club is inviting fans to come together in celebration of Grey Cup Unite, a free and safe celebration of our game. Along with joining the eight other clubs at league events, we are excited to stage our own virtual celebrations that honour our rich Grey Cup history and provide updates as we plan for a safe return to play in 2021.
Tuesday, November 17
BC Lions Town Hall: Exclusive to our season ticket holders, CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie will provide updates at the league level while President Rick LeLacheur gives an update on the organization's ongoing plans for 2021. Head coach Rick Campbell and his entire staff will also discuss their preparations for next season. The Town Hall begins at 6:30 PM PT. Diversity Is Strength: Racial Justice Roundtable: Lions receiver Bryan Burnham joins a panel of CFL players and alumni for a discussion on the issues of racial justice and to share their own experiences with personal discrimination. The event can be viewed at GreyCupUnite.ca.
Coaches Playbook, Presented By BOSA Construction And GML Mechanical Ltd: Building off the success of our first five webinars, Coach Campbell presents his vision on how to build a championship team and showcases what is needed to develop a winning mindset. TRULY Virtual Den Reunion With 2000 Grey Cup Champs: As we approach the 20-year anniversary of a historic Grey Cup win, we catch up with six key players from the 2000 champs. Damon Allen, Lui Passaglia, Sean Millington, Robert Drummond, Jamie Taras, Daved Benefield and Carl Kidd join host Matt Baker for a trip down memory lane. The event begins at 4:30 PM PT and be viewed in the Truly Virtual Den Facebook Page.
Sunday, November 22
2000 Grey Cup Re-Broadcast: Fans can return to the Virtual Den page and re-watch the thrilling 28-26 win over Montreal in the 88th Grey Cup. The re-broadcast begins at 3:30 PM PT.
Also throughout this week, our Felions Grey Cup Memories will appear at bclions.com and on the club's social media channels. A presentation of Lohin McKinnon, Felions Dance Team members will share their best memories of attending the Grey Cup Festival.
