
BaySox split season series with Mets, win 5-3

Binghamton, NY- Matt Bruback tossed six solid innings to lead the Bowie Baysox to a 5-3 win over the Binghamton Mets to split their four game Eastern League series.
Bruback (3-1) fanned nine batters over his six innings of work. He allowed only two runs, one of them earned, and held the Mets to four hits in his impressive outing. Jacobo Sequea pitched a perfect ninth and chalked up his Eastern League leading 17th save of the season. He struck out one.
All-Stars Walter Young and Eli Whiteside each enjoyed three-hit nights for the Baysox (48-42), who enter the All-Star break tied for second place with Erie.
Matt Peterson was touched for three runs on seven hits in six innings and suffered the loss. He is 6-4.
The Mets (52-38) closed out the first half of the season in first place in the Eastern League Northern Division.
