MOBILE, Ala. - With the BayBears poised to snap their four-game losing streak and avoid a sweep on Friday night, the Montgomery Biscuits jumped on the scoreboard early and often in a 13-3 rout at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Montgomery (18-17) took advantage of a two-out error by Greg Bordes in the first which sparked a four-run rally. J.T. Hall smacked a two-run double to follow the error, and then he scored on a two-bagger by Cesar Suarez.

In the second, the Biscuits fired up another two-out rally. Cody Evans (2-4) hit Drew Anderson to begin the frame but then retired the next two hitters. Rhyne Hughes prolonged the inning with an infield single ahead of Jason Perry's three-run tater to make it 7-0.

With their backs against the wall, the BayBears (19-16) started swinging back in the bottom of the second as Pete Clifford singled with one out. Mark Hallberg followed suit before Bordes walked. Evan Frey punched a two-run double, and James Skelton walked with the bases loaded to pull the BayBears within four. After retiring just four hitters, Biscuits starter Ryan Morse was replaced by reliever Brian Baker (1-0) who proceeded to shut down the BayBears through the next 4 2/3 innings.

Montgomery opened the flood gates again in the fourth, highlighted by Desmond Jennings' two-run bomb and an RBI triple by Hall. The BayBears were swept in a five-game series for the first time since July 17-21, 2007 when they were taken away by the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx in Mobile.

Right-hander Matt Torra (1-3, 4.75) attempts to stop the bleeding on Saturday night at 7:05 as the BayBears welcome the Huntsville Stars to town. For Hank Aaron Stadium ticket information, please call (251) 479-BEAR or log on to www.mobilebaybears.com.
