Huntsville Stars News Release

Hopefully everybody stayed dry tonight when the storms came ripping thru. Mother Nature again has thrown her wrath at us and after one inning of baseball and an hour plus wait, the umps had seen enough. That was about the time the dime-sized hail started falling.

With the threat of the severe storms that will pass thru the region this weekend, our partners for the Wiffle Ball Game (Thrivent Financial for Lutherans) asked us to postpone the World's Longest Wiffle Ball Game. We will decide on the make-up date in the next few days.

The good news is that our new tarp did its job and held back a lot of water. The bad news is that this game will not be made up as we don't face the Chattanooga Lookouts again this half of the season. So the game is lost from the schedule. Hopefully that 1/2 game won't come back to haunt us when the first half ends.

The Stars head out on a road trip to Mobile tomorrow morning and return back to The Joe next Thursday, May 21st, against the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx and a couple former Huntsville Stars players.

Every Thursday is Thirst-Aid Thursday. Joe Davis Stadium becomes the hottest singles bar in North Alabama on Thursdays and all Bud, Bud Light and AmberBock drafts are only $2 thru the 7th inning. All 12-ounce Pepsi fountain drinks are only a buck. Make your plans to attend.

The answer to tonight's trivia question mentioned in an earlier newsletter was 28.

The question was how many days would it take for a snail to climb out of a 30 foot well if the snail climbed three feet a day and then slid back two feet at night while it slept. For those that didn't get it, the snail gains one foot a day, so on the 27th day it would be 27 feet up. Then it would climb the three feet and be out on the 28th day. Nobody wins, but Cory will be back for the next home game and since he'll be offish'ly grad-gee-ated from SE Mo State, he'll have some serious questions for you.

Have a good weekend, everybody. Stay drive and drive safe. A reminder that there are still flash food warnings throughout the area; don't drive thru flooded streets. It only takes a foot of water to sweep your vehicle away and put you in harm's way.
