Mobile BayBears News Release

HUNTSVILLE, AL --The Mobile BayBears powered their way to a 13-2 win over the Huntsville Stars at Joe Davis Stadium Tuesday night. The 13 runs on 17 hits were both season-high totals for the BayBears. David Peralta and Justin Greene both finished with career best marks. The two combined for a perfect 9-for-9 with seven runs scored while collectively driving in 10 of the BayBears 13 runs.

Greene, the 2013 Southern League Batting Title champ, finished with his first ever five hit game. He scored four of the five times he reach based and tallied three RBI. Greene's efforts at the plate Tuesday raised his batting average a stunning 82 points. The BayBears center fielder batted second in the line up, followed by Peralta who hit in the third spot.

Peralta went 4-4, mashing two homers including a grand slam in the top of the fourth to give Mobile an 8-0 lead. The left fielder finished with a career-high seven RBI, matching a franchise record for most in one game originally done by Ricardo Sosa in 2009. Like Greene, Peralta also reached base safely five times, getting on with a walk in the third inning.

Mobile scored in six of the nine innings, posting five runs in the fourth inning alone. RHP Mike Lee matched the offensive outburst by the BayBears with his best work of the season on the mound. The righty earned his second straight win (2-2) while allowing just one earned run on five hits and striking out a season-high six over six full innings of work.

With the win, Mobile owns a 3-1 series lead going into the final game of the five game set Wednesday morning, ensuring the club of their third series win in their first four match-ups of the season. The BayBears win, coupled with a Montgomery Biscuits loss equates to Mobile pulling within one game of Montgomery for first place in the Southern League South Division Standings.

The BayBears and Stars conclude the series on Wednesday morning with first pitch scheduled for 11 AM. RHP Bryan Woodall (0-1, 2.87) will take to the hill for Mobile opposite LHP Brent Suter (2-0, 1.06). The BayBears will return home to Hank Aaron Stadium for a five game set with the Jackson Generals starting Thursday, April 24, at 7:05 PM.
