JACKSON, Tenn. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, took an early four-lead run but let it slip away in the seventh, dropping the series finale 6-5 to the Jackson Generals Monday night at the Ballpark at Jackson.

Joe Gatto recorded a quality start, giving up just two runs on four hits with six strikeouts in six innings. He retired the first nine batters of the game before allowing a run in the fourth and another in the sixth. Despite leaving in line to earn a win, Gatto did not factor in the decision.

Brennon Lund was the only BayBears (48-44 overall, 11-13 second half) player with a multi-hit game, and he matched his career-high with three runs scored. Lund and Jahmai Jones both came home on a fielding error in the first and a two-run Zach Gibbons double in the third.

The BayBears took a 5-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh, but Jackson (51-43, 12-13) tallied four runs in the frame against Adrian Almeida (2-4). Daniel Robertson led off with a solo home run, and Domingo Leyba hit a two-out RBI single to make the score 5-4. Jamie Westbrook followed with a two-run single to put the Generals in front.

The BayBears begin a five-game home series against the Chattanooga Lookouts Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. CDT. Right-handed pitcher Jose Rodriguez (6-7, 5.56 ERA) is scheduled to make the start for Mobile. Live coverage can be seen on MiLB.tv (Jackson feed, subscription required, promo code: BAYBEARS) and heard on the BayBears Broadcast Network, the TuneIn Radio App, and the MiLB First Pitch App, with the Countdown to First Pitch starting at 6:15 p.m.
