Bay FC News Release
SAN FRANCISCO, (Feb. 7, 2024) - Bay FC, the new women's professional soccer franchise representing the Bay Area in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), today announced a multi-year partnership with PNC, one of the largest diversified financial services institutions in the United States. PNC Bank will be a Founding Partner of the team.
The two organizations also are developing joint programs to connect, engage, and inspire Bay Area women to achieve their personal and professional financial goals. Those new programs include Bay FC's Goals for Grants powered by PNC. Through PNC's sponsorship, Bay FC will donate $1,000 for every Bay FC goal scored this season to local organizations. The grants will support local efforts that help Bay Area women who own or lead businesses achieve financial success.
"PNC Bank's dedication to supporting their customers and communities mirror what Bay FC is building," said Bay FC CEO Brady Stewart. "We want to thank PNC Bank for their commitment to financial success, including its longstanding engagement and support for women in our community and our athletes."
As part of the agreement, PNC will also provide financial empowerment programs to Bay FC players, coaches, and front office staff.
"PNC is proud to team with these professional women performing at the highest levels of their sport, while working to support women's financial success throughout the Bay Area," said Megan Schoettmer, PNC Bank regional president for Northern California. "As one of the nation's largest banks, we look forward to helping this exciting new club achieve its goals both on and off the pitch."
PNC opened a Northern California office of the Regional President in August 2022 as part of a coast-to-coast expansion. Since then, PNC's presence has steadily grown throughout the region.
PNC's commitment to women includes nearly 5,000 PNC-Certified Women's Business Advocates (WBA) across the nation and dozens throughout California. These WBAs are specially trained and dedicated to supporting women's financial success.
Legends, a global premium experiences company, represented Bay FC in sourcing and negotiating the partnership with PNC.
Bay FC kicks off its inaugural season in March 2024 at PayPal Park in San Jose. Tickets are now on sale for Bay FC's inaugural season and can be purchased at BayFC.com along with the latest merchandise. Fans can also follow @wearebayfc on social channels for more exciting announcements to come.
