WINNIPEG - With a month left in the American Association's regular season, the Winnipeg Goldeyes begin their most important home stand of the season against two of their fellow AA juggernauts - the St. Paul Saints this weekend and the Central Division-leading Gary SouthShore RailCats next week. Both are in Winnipeg for three games.
Battle for the North: The Saints invade Shaw Park tonight for the first of three games. Winnipeg's 1-5 record during their last road trip has left them just a game up on the Saints for first place in the North Division. While both teams have hit a bump in the road of their past 10 games (Winnipeg has a 4-6 record, while St. Paul has a 5-5 record), the Goldeyes can lengthen their cushion with a couple wins this weekend. St. Paul is in possession of the wild card right now, meaning two of the four teams holding playoff spots in the 14-team American Association will play at Shaw Park this weekend.
Viva, Las Vegas Night: Tonight one lucky fan wins a trip for two to Las Vegas courtesy of Allegiant Air and Hooters Casino Hotel. The Comeback King, a.k.a. Elvis Presley, is on the Winnipeg Free Press Stage on the Promenade before game for a free concert. He'll also be on-hand during the game to perform between innings and take pictures with fans! There's also a prize wheel on the concourse, so you can take your chance at some great Goldeyes gear. Proceeds will go to the Winnipeg Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation.
Party on the Bud Light Lime Patio Deck: Fans can get great deals on food and drinks every Saturday on the Bud Light Lime Party on the Patio Deck! Grab a few friends and head out to the deck for some good times! A $5 ticket is all you need to enjoy the game from the patio deck in right field.
Family Fun Day: Wonder Shows Carnival Games and the Dynasty Bathrooms Plunger Pool will be on the Promenade before the game and kids can run the bases following the game.
