St. George, Utah - The Capitals (5-5) played a doubleheader with the St. George RoadRunners (7-3)on Saturday, and for the first time this season, manager Brent Bowers made major changes to his batting order in the hopes that it would spark more offensive output.

Moving Jorge Cortes to the number two spot in the order and dropping both Gary Harris and Joe Jiannetti several slots down paid off immediately, as the Capitals took the first game 6-5.Cortes and Norm Hutchins led the attack, both going three for four.Cortes scored two runs while Hutchins drove in two.Cortes and Jiannetti had a homerun each.Four Caps pitchers combined to limit the RoadRunners to just six hits, and newly acquired Derrick DePriest (1-0) picked up the win in relief.Jason Pearson earned his first save.

An unearned run in the bottom of the ninth was the difference in the second game as the Caps lost a thriller to St. George.Lou Pote was locked in a pitcher's duel into the seventh inning before being relieved by Jason Pearson and later Aaron Easton (2-1), who took the loss. The game was Pote's third consecutive quality start to begin the season.Jiannetti clubbed his second homerun of the day and Hutchins kept up the hot bat going two for four in the evening contest.

In their first roster move of the season, the Capitals picked up right-handed relief pitcher Derrick DePriest who pitched last year in the Atlantic Independent League for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.DePriest has led his team in saves in each of the past two seasons.Relief pitcher Hector Almonte was released by the Capitals to free room for DePriest on the 22-man roster.

The Capitals will have a day off on Sunday, but are back in action Monday evening in Tucson to begin a three-game series with the Toros. The team's next home game at TELUS field will be Friday, June 5.Faith and Family Night and a pre-game concert featuring the Christian rock band Run Kid Run will precede the 8:00pm game with St. George to be followed by the second edition of Friday Night Fireworks.
