Battery Held to Draw in Harrisburg
April 21, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Charleston Battery News Release
The Charleston Battery were forced to settle for their second-straight draw away from home Saturday night against Penn FC at FNB Field.
The two teams traded possession and chances for the majority of the match until Atualla Guerra opened the scoring in the 78th minute. Tah Brian Anunga played Guerra through on goal and the Trinidadian attacker beat the Penn goalkeeper and tucked the ball away to put the Battery ahead. The goal was Guerra's second of the season and second against Penn FC.
Ken Tribbet scored the equalizer in the 89th minute to secure a point for Penn FC in their first home match of the season. Mauro Estaquio collected a partially cleared corner kick and chipped the ball to the back post. Tribbet finished Estaquio's cross with a bicycle kick at the back post.
The Battery has now earned back-to-back draws in their previous two matches. Charleston will remain on the road and take on Atlanta United 2 at Coolray Field Tuesday night before returning home to play the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, April 28 at MUSC Health Stadium.
