Bats to Honor Montford Point Marine Association at July 11 Military Appreciation Day

In a special pre-game ceremony on Military Appreciation Day, which is Sunday, July 11, the Bats will honor members of the Montford Point Marine Association Chapter 22 from Louisville, KY, including veterans that received basic training at the segregated Montford Point Camp in the 1940s.

First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m., with the pre-game ceremonies beginning at 5:30 p.m.

FREE admission will be officered to all active duty, reserve, guard, retirees and family members with valid ID. FREE admission will also be offered to all veterans - VFW, DAV, AMVETS, American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary and all other veterans with ID or DD Form 214.

The 38th Division Band from the Indiana National Guard will be performing pre-game and performing the National Anthem.

The Bats will also be giving away a special card set provided by the Disabled American Veterans prior to the game. The card set features Aroldis Chapman, Chris Heisey, Todd Frazier, Travis Wood, Juan Francisco, Yonder Alonso and other top prospects. The card set will be available to the first 2,000 fans through the gates.

The Mortenson Family Dental FREE Inflatable Kids FunZone will also be open in the Hall of Fame Pavilion from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
