
Bats Shut Out Clippers, Sweep Two-Game Series

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Bats right fielder Jeff Bannon's three-run blast in the bottom of the seventh helped Louisville secure their second straight win over Columbus 6-0, in front of 8,010 fans at Louisville Slugger Field.
Louisville starter Tom Shearn (4-6, 4.70) shut out Columbus in seven innings of work, surrendering five hits while striking out three. With the win, Shearn picked up his first home victory of the season.
Bannon led the Bats in hitting, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Catcher Ryan Jorgensen added to the cause, going 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Clippers right fielder Abraham Nunez led Columbus, going 3-for-3 on the night. Second basemen Brent Abernathy went 2-for-4.
Columbus starter Emiliano Fruto (3-5, 4.05) picked up the loss, allowing two runs on three hits in six innings of work.
The Bats will play the first of a two-game series against the Indianapolis Indians tomorrow night. This will be the first home meeting between the two ball clubs this season. Louisville will send LHP Bobby Livingston to the mound (3-4, 3.83) to face off against Indianapolis' LHP Michael Tejera (3-1, 4.53). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
