
Bats Go Quiet in Great Falls

On Tuesday night at Centene Stadium, the Grand Junction were limited to four singles in a 6-2 loss to the Great Falls Voyagers.
Grand Junction only left three men on base, but were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
After Great Falls took the lead with a run in the second inning, Bobby Stahel tied the game when he brought home Elvin Paulino in the third with a sacrifice fly, but the Voyagers regained the lead with a four spot in the bottom of the inning, taking advantage of three walks, two wild pitches and an error after two of the first the hitters of the inning doubled. The teams traded runs in the seventh.
Stahel, Chris Keck, Tyler Nevin and Paulino accounted for the Rockies hits. Anthony Brito had his 9-game hit streak come to an end, but he did bring home a run.
Mike Nikorak surrendered five runs, three earned, in 2.2 innings, but the bullpen trio of Gavin Glanz, Christian Talley, and Dakota Behr held the Voyagers to a run in 5.1 innings.
The loss drops the Rockies to 5-13 in the second half, 26-31 overall. They have lost 16 of their last 21 games after starting the season 20-15.
