
Basto to Winston-Salem; Suiter Returns

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (July 13, 2015) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have promoted first baseman/outfielder Nick Basto to the Class A-Advanced Winston-Salem Dash today. Kannapolis receives outfielder Michael Suiter back from the Dash in a corresponding move.
Basto, 21, appeared in 42 games with Kannapolis, batting .217 (31-143) with 11 doubles, three home runs, and 18 RBI since joining the team on May 17 from Winston-Salem. The White Sox fifth round pick from the 2012 draft, Basto opened 2015 with the Dash, batting .146 (19-130) with seven doubles, a home run, and nine RBI in 36 games.
Suiter, 23, opened the season with Kannapolis before earning a promotion to the Dash on May 17. In Winston-Salem, he hit .171 (21-123) with three doubles, a home run, six RBI, three stolen bases, and 13 runs scored in 40 games in the Carolina League. The Kailua, Hawaii, native appeared in 28 games with Kannapolis to start 2015, batting .229 (28-114) with four doubles, two triples, two home runs, 16 RBI, four stolen bases and 14 runs scored. Suiter, the White Sox 24th round pick from the June 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of Kansas, was rated as the Fastest Runner in the organization's 2014 draft class by Baseball America.
Kannapolis returns to Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System on Tuesday, July 14, for a seven-game home stand beginning with a three-game series against the Lakewood BlueClaws (Phillies). RHP Yelmison Peralta (2-7, 6.68 ERA) is slated to start the series opener for the Intimidators. Tuesday's game is Arby's Two-for-Tuesday featuring 2-for-1 tickets with any Arby's proof of purchase as well as various 2-for-1 deals throughout the ballpark.
