Baseball Legend Mike Schmidt to Make Appearance at Raley Field on Friday

Former Major League third baseman Mike Schmidt will visit Raley Field on Friday, July 18th to help raise awareness of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as enlarged prostate. The Hall of Famer has partnered with Minor League Baseball to launch the national program, "BPH Game Plan Starts with U: Catch the Whole Game," aimed at urging men to talk to their doctors about annual prostate screenings.

Schmidt, a 12-time MLB All-Star and leader of the Philadelphia Phillies 1980 World Series Championship team, is one of the millions of men in the United States who are affected by the symptoms of BPH. Four out of five men develop BPH in their lifetime. Schmidt is now traveling to five cities in Minor League Baseball to motivate other men to take action with their doctors and to find the right treatment for them.

Fans are invited to meet Schmidt from approximately 7:05 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. on the Foul Ball Patio (left field line) where he will be available to autograph free Mike Schmidt over-sized baseball cards.

Mike Schmidt, Member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, former third basemen of the Philadelphia Phillies is available to discuss:

- His personal story with BPH and why he is speaking out about his experiences

- Steps he took to manage his symptoms

- His participation in the BPH Game Plan Starts with U: Catch the Whole Game campaign
