WEEKEND RECAP:

The Barrie Colts posted a 1-2 record over the weekend with a 2-1 home victory on Thursday against Guelph and a pair of road losses, 7-1 Friday in Sudbury and 4-2 Sunday evening in Sault Ste. Marie..The club now stands in first place in the Central Division with a 7-3-0-1 record and 15 points, three ahead of the St. Michael's Majors, and two behind the Peterborough Petes for first overall in the OHL..vs. Guelph: Ranked third in the BMO Bank of Montreal Canadian Hockey League National rankings earlier in the week, the Colts hosted the Guelph Storm, who were ranked fourth.Andrew Marshall (6) tallied an early powerplay goal for the home side, and the Storm responded to produce a 1-1 tie through one period.Travis Fuller (5) then tallied the game-winner on another Barrie powerplay at 18:02 of the second period.Dan LaCosta closed the door the rest of the way and made 31 total saves to earn his seventh victory of the season.The win improved Barrie's record at home to 4-0-0-1 on the season, including a 3-0 record on Thursday nights..The Colts' powerplay went 2-for-9, meanwhile they killed off eight of Guelph's nine powerplays..@ Sudbury: Friday night the Colts made their first of four trips this season to Sudbury and were handed a 7-1 loss by the hometown side.Bryan Little (9) tallied the game's first goal but then it was all the Wolves from there on, scoring four in the first, one in the second and two more in the third..Dan LaCosta (10 saves/14 shots) was replaced after the first period by Andrew Perugini, who entered his first OHL action and made 24 saves on the 27 shots that he faced through the final two periods.The Wolves went 4-for-10 with the man advantage and the Colts were blanked, going 0-for-7...The loss evened Barrie's regular season record to 1-1 versus the Wolves..@ Sault Ste. Marie: The club continued their northern swing with a Sunday night trip to Sault Ste. Marie to face the Greyhounds.For the tenth time in eleven games this season, the Colts scored the game's first goal, but then the Greyhounds took over, building a 3-1 lead through one and extending it to 4-1 through two periods before going on to an eventual 4-2 victory.Andrew Marshall (7) opened the scoring for Barrie, and Hunter Tremblay (2) also tallied a goal, as both were on the powerplay.Dan LaCosta made 26 saves in goal and suffered the loss for the visitors..Barrie's powerplay went 2-for-11 throughout the game, meanwhile the Hounds went 2-for-7

WHAT'S ON TAP:

The Colts will play three games in three straight nights this weekend beginning with a home game scheduled for Thursday evening (7:30 p.m.) versus the Owen Sound Attack (5-3-0-0).The Colts previously defeated the Attack by a score of 6-4 in their first of six meetings against each other back on September 22 in Barrie.The Attack lineup features Bobby Ryan, who was selected seventh overall by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in the first round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.Ryan is currently at a three point per game pace with 18 points (6g-12a) through six games so far this season..The Colts will then travel to Mississauga for their first appearance this season at the Hershey Centre against the Ice Dogs (3-6-0-0)..The Colts hold a 1-0 edge in the season series thus far, thanks to a 2-0 victory at home to the Ice Dogs back on October 8.The club caps off the weekend Saturday at home (7:30 p.m.) with a rematch of their first round playoff series with the Ottawa 67's..Ottawa (4-5-1-0) travels to Barrie for the first time since defeating the Colts 4-2 in their first round playoff matchup last season.It will be these two team's first of four regular season meetings against each other

The club was given the day off on Monday, and will return to the ice for practice Tuesday and Wednesday at the Molson Centre (3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

INJURY & ROSTER UPDATES:

Defenseman Kyle van de Bospoort is still list as being out 2-to-4 weeks with a bout of mononucleosis..He has missed the club's last eight games.Michael Lombardi has missed the club's previous six games and is still listed as day-to-day with an ankle injury..He is questionable for this weekend's games

CURRENT PLAYER STREAKS:

Bryan Little is the only current player with a point streak still in tact..Little has registered at least one point in his last six games dated back to October 7th when the club played London.He has nine points (4g-5a) during this span

SPECIAL TEAMS SUMMARY:

Barrie's powerplay units currently stand in 8th place at 21.5% with 23 goals through 107 man-advantage situations, meanwhile the penalty kill also stands in 8th having killed off 85 of 102 shorthanded situations for an 83.3% rate of efficiency

SHOOTOUT SUMMARY:

The Colts have participated in one shootout this season, losing to the Brampton Battalion back on October 1 by a final score of 3-2..The shootout went into sudden death, and Brampton's fifth and final shooter, Luke Lynes gave the visiting club a 1-0 victory in the contest
